you liked a girl. you never said anything to her. you hesitated.

she went her way, you went yours. she was successful, you were not far behind.

you met her by accident at a bar. you and her got drunk. she cried about her recently broken-up boyfriend, wondering why he left her. you hesitated.

you parted.

40 years later, you two lived in the same nursing home. you were still single. she was a widow. you thought it were too late, that you two were too old. you hesitated.

one day, she walked pass you, cracking a big, beautiful smile at you, you realized that was what had haunted you all these years, that you had loved her all along, and that it might not had been too late. you dreamed of holding her hand, walking together under the cold moonlit night. however long it could last. you no longer hesitated.

but it was really too late. she passed away not long after.

now you are on your own, your heart and soul filled with regrets.

burning your old photo with her at her grave, you wondered what if.
