Although it’s not until tomorrow (NewYork timezone), it’s already the 16th back in Vietnam. Since I was born in Vietnam, it’s only appropriate to use that timezone instead.

During the past year, many things have happened. There are definitely ups, and downs (>.<). I officially started working on my research group in Jan 07. Learning how to study/research independently, instead of waiting for instruction from the teachers, is pretty cool. I bought my first car in March 07, a brand new Honda Civic 2007, and my trips to the cinema, the market, to the Penguin ice-hockey games, the Pirates baseball games, and the Heinz Concert Hall have never been the same. I passed my qualifying exam, officially become a pH.d candidate in Aug 07. Work is going rather smoothly. Unfortunately, I changed my status back to “single” late last year (the bad news has to be put somewhere, right ?)… Good luck to her ! Then my trip to Washington DC and New York city on Christmas 07, which could have been a lot more enjoyable if the hotel and the subway system were a bit less dirty, and the planned demonstration at the United Nations were to take place. But on top of everything that happened in my real life, I’m glad to be able to witness the growth of this site from a small place for me to rant about random things in life to what it is today (which is, still tiny, haha). All of you visitors and your comments are the motivation for me to continue posting my thoughts, and uploading every day. Thank you !

My new “age” starts with the trip going back to Vietnam for the Lunar New Year. Let’s hope things will continue to go well, and I’ll see you often in this new year.
